Chopper Spins Uncontrollably into Palm Fronds at Frequented California Shoreline
A chopper soaring over a popular coastal shoreline suddenly started spinning uncontrollably, eventually dropping height and smashing into a line of palm trees as beachgoers watched.
Footage shared online show the helicopter beginning to twirl above Huntington Beach then falling near the edge of the coast, where it becomes wedged between palm trees and a set of stairs near the coastal road.
Emergency Response Details
Local firefighters said five people were transported to a medical facility comprising two who were in the chopper and were “rescued from the debris” subsequent to the incident on the weekend.
Three individuals on the road were hurt. Details on their injuries were still under review.
The cause of the crash was still under investigation.

Officials said the aircraft was associated with an annual “Cars and Copters” benefit occasion set for the next day.
